Syarikat SESCO Inks Connection Agreement With Press Metal

Syarikat SESCO Berhad and Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd signed a Connection Agreement (CA) at a simple ceremony at Menara SEB on Friday, 20th July 2012.

The signing between Syarikat SESCO Berhad, in its capacity as the Grid System Service Provider (GSSP) & Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd (PMBSB) is to allow PMSB to connect to the Grid & take supply from our 275kV system for its aluminium smelting plant located in the Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu which is within the SCORE region.

According to the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and the State Grid Code Rules 2003, PMSB is required to enter into a CA with the GSSP in order to specify the technical design and certain operational criteria which PMSB must comply with. Both parties had previously signed a PPA on the12th of July 2011 for the sale & purchase of electric power from SESCO to PMSB at the latter’s aluminium smelting plant here in Samalaju.

This meaningful milestone cannot be achieved without the hard work and commitment by the technical teams from our Transmission, Project Execution, Legal & Commercial Departments, PPA Team as well as the Key Accounts (SCORE Customers) Division.
