CORPORATE PROFILE - HISTORY Sarawak Energy Berhad was incorporated in 1967 as Dunlop Estates Bhd and listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, KLSE) in the same year. It changed its corporate name from Dunlop Estates Berhad to Sarawak Enterprise Corporation Berhad on the 31 January of 1996. It assumes the name Sarawak Energy Berhad on 31 March 2007 as part of the Group restructuring and rationalization (R&R) exercise, to become a major utility and energy group. The Major shareholder in Sarawak Energy Berhad is the Sarawak State Government, who currently holds 65% equity interest in the Company since September 2004. Sarawak Energy Berhad Group is responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the State of Sarawak. The Company’s principal activities cover electric power utility and Independent Power Producer (IPP), steel fabrication and galvanising, engineering and other related support services.
